Kamala Stores is a pioneer vessel merchant in Coimbatore. It is one of the oldest stores in Coimbatore with its origin dating back to 1957 selling only good quality goods from day one. The simple business strategy of serving only the best for the customers helped to win people's trust and love.
The origin of the store can be traced back to P. AiyaduraiNadar who belonged to a farming family in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. Owing to his family burden and being the eldest son in the family, he went to Srilanka to make some money. After working in a shop for few years, he opened a small store dealing with herbal medicines in a town called Polgahawela and fared well. But the political unrest in Srilanka made him move back to India. On looking for a place to start his next venture, he was really impressed with the weather of Coimbatore and welcoming heart of the people. Along with the help of his brothers, he started Kamala Stores as a small shop of 400 sqft area.
During the initial days the store offered aluminum, iron, brass kitchen products and later added other stainless steel kitchen vessels and appliances to the product range.
The addition of stainless steel products to the range served as the niche and helped gain reputation in the market. It's the uncompromising quality and the affordable rates helped the store earn its name and fame among the household masses. As the business grew and market expanded, Kamala Stores expanded itself in the same place to 14,000 sqft to accommodate more home needs like plastic goods, mattress, stationery, gift articles and lot more. In the 2011, the 22,000 sqft new branch at 100 feet road was opened that offered kitchen appliances, home needs and also groceries.
